"I am a retired architect living in Honolulu in an old singled sided home with a shallow roof that is not insulated. In the summer the heat from the sun would bring the internal temperature up to an unbearable 95˚ F, and the air-conditioning would be fighting the heat.

Since installing Hawaiian Sunguard roofing system the house interior has cooled down by over 10˚ F and there is no transmission of heat felt through the roof. Other neighbors tackling the same problem have installed attic fans, opened louvered vents and insulated the false ceilings but I do not believe any solution is as simple to install and offer at the same time an excellent waterproofing.

We have also treated the West sidewall of the house with the same Ceramic-Titanium coating and found it too has eliminated much of the heat from penetrating. I think a further option would be the installation of heat reflective insect screens.

The difference is astounding. Our only regret is we didn’t do it sooner."

"My house used to register 80˚ to 99˚ F all year long rain or shine. I have thought of opening up my roof to ventilate many times but it was too much bother and expensive.

"For many years, I have had a large wind turbine on my roof to ventilate the attic. From Sept. 28, 2006 – to – Oct. 15, 2006 the average temperature in the attic was 101.22˚ F. After completion of the Sunguard coating on Oct. 16, 2006 (to Oct. 31, 2006) the average temperature was 84.10˚ F. There is a difference of 17.12˚ Fahrenheit."
