Decide whether
you want a simple Reflectivity Coat or a Full Fabric Renewable Roof.
You can choose to save money by rolling out our simple Reflectivity
Coat to cool down your home and protect your roof from the sun’s UV
damage for about 85 cents a SF. This is especially good for roofs
(including asphalt/composition shingle) in fair condition that don’t
have a lot of ponding water. Or, you can install our Full Fabric
Renewable Roof, which can be a lifetime waterproofing system, with
periodic maintenance, for about $1.85 a SF. For more info on these two

| 2. |
| Before we
begin let’s take a moment for safety. We recommend that you
visit the www.OSHA.gov
website to get the latest in safety laws. We also sell an OSHA approved
harness kit called Compliance in a Can on our Products
Page which is easy to use. We don’t mark up this item, we sell it
for our wholesale cost to encourage safety. If you don’t believe that
you can do this by yourself safely, call us and we will recommend a
licensed roofing contractor in Hawaii that can do it for you. |

| 3. |
| Clean off
the roof surface of any dirt or debris. If you have any
substantial mold or algae you can use a water and bleach mix (1:1).
Make sure roof is dry before priming. Do not apply any coating if rain
is expected during the drying period. |

| 4. |
Apply a light coat of our HSG Epoxy Primer at a
rate of 1 gal. per 300 SF on rough surfaces (such as asphalt
composition shingles or mineral surface cap sheet). Smooth roofs (such
as metal, rubber and single ply, etc.) will only need about 1 gal. per
500 SF. Don’t put in on so thick that it puddles. You can also mist it
on with a Hudson type garden sprayer. The primed surface will be
slightly tacky to the touch and ready to coat in 1 to 2 hours. You
should install the first coat of HSG within 72 hours of priming. If
not, then simply re-prime. |

| 5. |
| Fix any
roof cracks, seams, penetrations or other suspect areas with our HSG
Roof Repair Putty and reinforcing fabric. Simply get a brush
(or putty knife) and smother the suspect areas with our putty. Cut off
a piece of our fabric and imbed into the wet putty. Put another coat of
putty over the fabric. Allow to dry before putting on roof coating. If
the cracks are not too large you can get away with using the HSG Roof
Coating instead of the HSG Putty. However, if the holes are very large,
then you should fill them with a can of spray urethane foam. |

| 6. |
| Roll out a
thick, even 1st coat of HSG Roof Coating. Most people put it
on too thin when they first start. That’s OK, as long as you end up
using the recommended amount. You’ll just end up doing more coats. The
Reflectivity Coat will use a total of about 2 to 3 gals. per 100
SF in two thick, even coats. The Full Fabric Renewable Roof will total
between 4 to 5 gals. per 100 SF in about three thick, even coats. Never
put down any coating if rain is predicted. You will want to keep a blue
tarp handy to cover up if a surprise shower comes by. See further
instructions for your specific type of roof on this website. *If you
are doing a Reflectivity Coat only, your work is done. Proceed to the
Rooftop Party! |

| 7. |
| Roll out
the 40” reinforcing fabric into the wet 1st coat. Using your paint
roller (or a broom) you work out any wrinkles in the fabric. If no rain
is expected (and it’s not too late in the day) you can put your 2nd
coat on while you are working out the bubbles with your roller. Like
wallpaper, it’s useful to push the air pockets from the middle of the
fabric towards the edges. Get out as many bubbles as you can. If any
large ones remain after the coating dries you can simply slice and fill
with more coating. |

| 8. |
Roll out your final coat(s). Depending
on weather (and how thick your 1st coats are) your final coats can go
down after 24 hours. Make sure you use the total recommended amount of
coating and that no fabric texture or seams are visible. If you have
extra coating, reinforce any “weak knee areas” with more coating. If
you have any ponding water areas (any place on the roof where there is
still water after 24 hours of no rain) then put a 2nd layer of
reinforcing fabric over those areas and repeat Step 7. |

be saving in the future with your reduced energy costs) you can deserve
